Maya Singh Age 17, Santa Clara California Maya has been training and performing dance since the age of 3. Believing in the universal language of dance and the importance of versatility of expression, she is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, modern, lyrical, Bollywood, and Rajasthani folk dance. In addition to local shows and celebrations, she has performed with the Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker as a snowflake and French variation, with Mona Khan Dance Company as a junior emerging performer, and most extensively with Dance Attack Contemporary Performing Arts Company (DAC PAC) and the performing company of Dance Attack, Sunnyvale. She has won scholarships and awards at dance conventions and competitions such as the American Dance Awards, Jump, Adrenaline, Nuvo, 24-7 and ASH. She has been fortunate to train and take class with amazing teachers and choreographers such as Cheryl Copland, Sidra Bell, Aminya Houston, Anthony Morigerato, Jess Hendricks, Carlos Jones, Shakti Mohan, Nick Lazzarini, Milton Myers, Matt Luck and Rujuta Vaidya. She was chosen among thousands of contestants aged 13-30 making it to the Dance India Dance North America finals as the one of the youngest contestants televised on Zee Tv. She was invited by one of her competitors in the show and had a successful choreographic debut with Junoon Performing Arts group at age 14. At 15, she was invited to dance with Haji Springer at the Festival of Globe and to train at the Joffrey Ballet and under renowned choreographer Rujata Vaidya
