I've been dancing ever since I can remember. I started when I was a baby and then around twelve years old I decided I wanted to do it professionally, so I started the pursuit of being a profesional classical ballet dancer.
I was dancing at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, but before that I was at the Ellison Ballet School in New York City. At the Bolshoi I studied contemporary, classical ballet technique, pas de deux class, historical dance, character dance, and acting. My favorite is most definitely ballet class, as I want to be a ballet dancer in a professional company. When dancing ballet I don't think about anything else, and when I dance I know that this is what I want to do with my life. So when I take ballet class I know that I am improving and getting beter.
I would love to say thank you to Mr. Ellison, and Ms.Valekaite from Ellison Ballet, and I would also like to thank Ms. Prokofieva from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy for helping me and pushing me to be my best.
Dancing at the Bolshoi was like nothing else I could have imagined. The training was amazing and my teacher was the best as well. She truly believed in me and helped me so much. I'm such a stronger person and dancer because of her. It was hard because I was away from home and missed my family, but I knew that it was worth it and I feel so honored to have studied there. The training and the teachers are all phenomenal and I am so grateful I got to experience that!
I originally started my variation when I was at Ellison with a myriad of teachers, as I was aware there would be show when I went to Bolshoi, and wanted to have a spot in the show. I worked on the variation for a few months, on the weekends, during the week and whenever I had some spare time. Sometimes when there was an empty studio I would play my music and just go over the movements. Then when I got to Russia my teacher chose me and my friend out of the whole class to audition for the show, and she worked with us privately. After the audition I was chosen for the performance, and the rest is history!
My mother is my main inspiration to dance. She was a dancer herself and everyday she helps me and guides me in that field and she is just so inspiring. Of course I'm also inspired by the greats like Anna Pavlova, Natalia Makarova, and Maya Plisetskaya.
I hope to get into the Royal Ballet Company in the near future, but as of now I just hope to continue my training and continue to improve and get stronger.
