Wow, thank you so much! I am so grateful. It was so much fun filming the video!
I've been dancing for about 4 years now. I study at All American Ballet School in Ventura, CA. I study Horton (modern), contemporary and broadway dance in addition to ballet. I love contemporary!
The making of this video was pretty informal. I heard the dying swan music one day and decided to choreograph a semi-classical piece to it. I really wanted it to be raw and natural, so I decided on the beautiful Ventura beach to film. There is something about being barefoot while dancing that is so tangible and real. My sister and I drove to the beach and filmed it once, then came home and put music to it! I wanted it to be very simple yet touching.
I would like to acknowledge Clarissa Boeriu. I would not be where I am today without her. My advice for young dancers is that dance is hard, so work hard. Work extremely hard, do not be lazy! If dance is your passion, be ready to do anything asked, keep an open mind. If you are not sweating at the first combination at the barre, you are not working hard enough!
Dancing is another way to express my feelings without having to use words. The fact that I have a body that can move is so inspiring, there is no limit to what you can do! You are always learning and always finding new ways to express yourself. A lot of people don't have bodies that are in working condition, so I am extremely grateful for what I have and want to use it to my best ability.
I honestly have no idea what my future plans are. The dance world is so vast. Opportunities pop up everywhere you go! But I am excited to be on this journey. It's going to be great!
