Allison Garcia – Judges’ Choice Winner March 2014

Thank you so much for selecting my video.  I started dancing at the early age of two.  Currently I am dancing with Ballet Clasico Alina Abreu.  I have been trained in ballet, especially in Cuban technique.  I have had the opportunity to be coached for many years by Alina Abreu, artistic director;  Alihaydee Carreno, prima ballerina of National Ballet of Cuba; Armando Gonzalez, Zenaida Terrero and Haydee Delgado, soloists from National Ballet of Cuba.  

I have participated in the New York International Ballet Competition, Boston International Ballet Competition, Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition, World Ballet Competition and also International Ballet Festivals in Chicago, Colombia, Panama, Mexico and Dominican Republic. 

I have been a Finalist in the category of “Cultural Development” in the National Youth Award in 2013 and 2014, nominated as “Dancer of the Year” in Soberano Awards in 2011 and 2013, received a full scholarship for Joffrey Ballet School for the summer of 2012 and 2014, a full scholarship for Performing in Chicago International Workshop in 2011, named Top Overall Winner at Starlink Dance Challenge in 2011, Dancer of the Week of Dancing Supplies Depot in 2010 and Dance Magazine Viewer's Choice Award in October 2009.

My repertoire includes Manon Pas de Deux, Flames of Paris Pas de Deux, Gulnare in full length Le Corsaire, Raymonda Pas De Deux, Paquita Pas de Deux, Lilac Fairy in full length Sleeping Beauty, Grand Pas de Quatre, Diana and Acteon Pas De Deux, and Don Quixote Pas de Deux. Recently I have the opportunity to be featured as Odette/Odile in the full length ballet of Swan Lake by Ballet Clasico Alina Abreu, this video was from one of the rehearsals.
