Gillian Fitz – November 2013 Judges’ Choice Winner

I am 15 years old, a 10th grade honor student in Colleyville, Texas, and have been training under the direction of Marina Almayeva since I was nine. During my six years of ballet training, I have enjoyed competing in the annual performances at Youth America Grand Prix, where I won the Hope Award at age 11, placed second at age 14, and have performed in the international finals every year since 2010.  I have also competed at The World Ballet Competition and the American Ballet Competition, where I was recognized as The Most Promising Dancer at age 13 and won First Place at age 14.  I've participated in summer intensive programs with The Texas Ballet Theater, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, and The School of American Ballet. Both the competitions and summer intensives have helped me to strengthen my technique, enhance my artistry, and build my confidence. As I continue to train at the Marina Almayeva School of Classical Ballet, I ultimately look forward to pursuing a professional ballet career.

Again, thank you. I look forward to submitting more videos!
